FAQ
Questions about pingbot
What is pingbot?
pingbot is part of the user agent sent by Pingdom, a SolarWinds website monitoring service. The PingdomPageSpeed variant runs page speed tests.
How do I verify Pingdom requests?
Compare the source IP with SolarWinds' published probe lists at my.pingdom.com/probes/ipv4 and /probes/ipv6.
Should I block pingbot?
Usually not. If you or your team use Pingdom, blocking it will break monitoring and may trigger false alerts.
