When a user shares a URL in an app built on Iframely, the Preview Agent fetches that one URL. It builds previews and rich media embeds. An optional suffix in the user agent, such as Atlassian, names the customer app.

Is it really Iframely?
Anyone can copy a user agent. Real Iframely requests come from the IP ranges published at iframely.com/ips-v4. A reverse DNS lookup of a real request resolves to iframely.com, and that hostname resolves back to the same IP.

Iframely says a person shared your URL in an app built by one of its customers. The Preview Agent fetches only that URL.
Does Iframely respect robots.txt?
The Preview Agent does not consult robots.txt because it only fetches URLs a person shared. Iframely says robots.txt applies to its Processing and Training Agents.
How can I verify Iframely requests?
Check the IP against iframely.com/ips-v4 and ips-v6, or confirm reverse DNS resolves to iframely.com. Requests are also signed with Web Bot Auth headers.
